The Alamo Drafthouse is kicking off its Rolling Roadshow summer series with a very special beer-themed event. As the sun sets on Jester King Craft Brewery this Thursday July 18, the Drafthouse will screen the brand new craft beer documentary Crafting A Nation.
Featuring several Austin breweries including Jester King, Hops & Grain and Austin Beerworks, Crafting A Nation tells the story of small craft breweries across the country. The film shows the fantastic culture that surrounds craft beer in the different communities, but it also goes beyond that. It shows the hardships and struggles of opening a craft brewery, as well as the heart, dedication, and passion of the people behind these breweries.
Producer Courtney Cobb and Austin brewers featured in Crafting A Nation will be in attendance to answer questions after the film and share a beer with everyone. Tickets are currently on sale and include a ticket for a 4 oz. sample of any Jester King beer on tap. And now thanks to the Texas legislature finally getting their act together, you can purchase as many Jester King beers as you can responsibly drink. Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza will also be open, slinging those delicious pies.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the film starts at sun down. So bring a chair, bring an empty belly and prepare yourself for total craft beer culture immersion.
