The sun was shining, the beers were flowing and the people were dancing Saturday over at Cedar Street Courtyard for Kyle’s Brewfest, a charity beer festival put on by Kyle Hollingsworth of the band String Cheese Incident.
The event featured beer from 11 craft breweries–Austin Beerworks, Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits, Boulevard Brewing Company, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Hops and Grain, Independence Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co, New Belgium Brewing, Sierra Nevada, Thirsty Planet Brewing Company and Oskar Blues., and a performance by Kyle Hollingsworth with Mountain Standard Time.
The whole event benefited Conscious Alliance, a non-profit focused on feeding the hungry through charity music and sporting events.
The crowd was certainly an interesting hodgepodge, with the fest attracting everyone from beer geeks, to dreadlocked hippies, to people wearing capes. (Yes, multiple people wore capes.) But all these folks came together to share in the good times and throw back some brews for a great cause.
