As yet another festival descends upon the city, Austin should brace itself for foodie-frenzy. I’m usually the first person to shoo the grand festivals out of our fair city but I have been anticipating Austin Food & Wine Festival for months. Not only is it foodie paradise but they threw in a beer panel for good measure.
Though wine is in the festival name, the Austin beer scene will also be represented in this year’s fest. A beer panel of regional & national brewmasters, led by Alamo Drafthouse Beverage Director Bill Norris, will grace the stage at Butler Park (Pecan Tent) on Sunday afternoon. Though they have yet to announce what brewers will be joining Mr. Norris, we have been promised “some inside tips, tricks and techniques on the art of brewing.” Though the festival is keeping mum about what craft brewers are going to be sharing these tips, with the likes of Bill Norris, Andrew Zimmern, and Paul Qui on deck for other events, one can only assume its going to be awesome. We just hope there’s samples!
