Bitch Beer’s First Birthday Party at Rogness Brewing

BB_Poster_quarterpageHB copy**This event is officially SOLD OUT! Thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket**

It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year since we sat around a table at Thirsty Planet Brewing Co. and came up with this crazy idea to start an all-female run beer blog. Since then, we’ve  made countless new friends in the craft beer community, sampled some amazing brews, covered big festivals like The Texas Craft Brewers Festival, the Untapped Festival, Dallas Winter Warmer, and even The Great American Beer Festival in Denver, hell, we even got voted one of the Top 10 Austin Food Blogs by the Austin Chronicle. Yes, it’s been a pretty damn amazing year for a group of girls that started off just wanting to drink beer and have a little fun.

We couldn’t have done any of this without our wonderful friends, colleagues and readers. So, we’re inviting you all to join us for our First Birthday Party at Rogness Brewing Saturday Feb. 2nd.

The party, which will take place from 4:30-8pm will feature a brewery tour,  live music, Easy Tiger pretzels and beer cheese, gourmet chocolates from Crave Artisan Chocolate, a beer birthday cake, a photobooth courtesy of Frink’s Photography, and, of course, a Rogness Brewing pint glass to fill with all the handcrafted brews you can responsibly enjoy! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at http://www.bitchbeer.whindo.com. Our last event sold out, and capacity will be limited, so we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance ASAP so you don’t miss out on all the fun.

FYI: Ladies AND gentlemen are welcome.

More about our music lineup:

Edison Chair:

Based in Austin, Texas, Edison Chair (Martin Aker – bass, Wes Armstrong – drums, Will Bryant – keys/guitar, Cord Jackson – guitar) craft direct songs with colorful, vocally-embellished arrangements; think Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers getting together with The Raconteurs to play Beatles tunes in the 1970s. The band independently released their first album “Greatest Hits” in spring 2012. Soon after, they were featured at Austin’s legendary Continental Club in an official showcase at the SXSW Music Festival. Now Edison Chair are working with producer/Blue October bassist Matt Noveskey on their energetic follow-up EP, which will come out this Winter and feature lead vocals from each member.

Spence (Austin Boogie Crew):

Austin Boogie Crew (ABC) is a funk collective specializing in music from the late 70’s and early 80’s. The genre that ABC derives its inspiration from is boogie: a dance-oriented brand of music that bridges the gap between quality disco and bass-heavy funk. The members of ABC channel their love for the musicality and sentiment of the boogie era to create an instantly palatable sound rarely heard elsewhere in Austin. Founders Spence and Danbone have made a splash in the local scene with their DJ night “The Boogie,” an all-vinyl affair showcasing original records with the aim of making a great party. ABC have brought their signature sound to venues like The Beauty Ballroom, The Volstead, and Loft 718, sharing stages with acts like Dam-Funk (Stones Throw) and Afrolicious (ESL Music). One record at a time, Austin Boogie Crew continues to prove that boogie does indeed have its place in Texas. Check out ABC every second Wednesday night of the month at Plush in downtown Austin.
