Well Austinites, in the words of Barry Manilow, looks like we made it. After threats of an immanent apocalypse, it looks like we may actually see 2013 after all. Lucky too, because there are plenty of great New Years Eve events in Austin this year. And, if we’re writing about ’em, you know they include craft beer.
Take a look….
The Flying Saucer
It’s New Years Eve, Flying Saucer style. That means no cover, $3 Pint Nite beers, rare tappings, free party favors and a midnight champagne toast.
The Barber Shop
Avoid the city swarms and venture on out to Dripping Springs to try the Barber Shop’s Cocoa Nib Bourbon Barrel Porter and other special party concoctions, including snacks and a champagne toast. Music by Doug Strahan and Co.
The Brew Exchange is saying CHEERS to 2013, with an event featuring food from Winflo Osteria, music from DJ Swing, mixed drinks and all 72 beers on tap, a champagne toast at midnight and party favors. Tickets are $100.
Enjoy a laid back NYE with $3 512 brews and music from Ben Balmer.
Black Star Co-Op
Black Star Co-Op is ringing in the new year with some delicious culinary concoctions–a four course beer pairing featuring delicacies from the land, sea, air…and abyss, all paired with original Black Star brews of course! The dinner runs from 7-9pm and tickets are $75 per person.
North by Northwest NXNW will be getting the party started early at 5 p.m. when they’ll tap the Hey Joe Coffee Stout which has been cask-conditioned with a house blend of certified organic coffee from Texas Coffee Traders and fresh vanilla beans.
If you feel like doing something a little more simple this New Years, Gourmands will be serving us sandwiches and local craft beer all night, with a free champagne toast at midnight.
If you’re looking for something a little classier than your typical bar fare, Hopfields is taking reservations for a special NYE party featuring free champagne, rare beer tappings and a family style dinner of Hors d’oeuvres, Caviar and Smoked Prime Rib. Tickets to the all inclusive event are $65 and can be purchased here.
According to The Liberty, 2012 sucked. Well, we’re not about to disagree with them if it’s inspired a bad ass New Years Eve party appropriately titled Fuck You 2012, featuring a free keg from Brooklyn Brewery, music from Stooges cover band, a free midnight champagne toast, and a collective pour out for fallen homies.
The Dig Pub
The Dig Pub will be open from 4:00 to midnight, offering champagne and general merry-making with extended happy hour prices until 11:00. They will also be partnering with neighbors JT’s Sports Bar and Grille to provide FREE shuttle service to patrons living in Cedar Park.
Know of another NYE party involving craft beer in ATX? Let us know about it and we’ll include it above.
Cheers and Happy New Years!
