Brooklyn Beer Dinner at Easy Tiger

Yesterday, two Bitch Beer reporters went to Easy Tiger’s Brooklyn Beer Pairing Dinner with Steve Hindy (president and co-founder of Brooklyn Brewery) as a special guest!

All the food and beer was amazing individually and paired together so well that Sarah and I were incredibly frustrated that we were full by the third course. Chef Drew really thought hard about the flavors in the beer and what kind of food would really make the beer something else.

FIRST COURSE

Beer: Brooklyn Fiat Lux

Food: Mussels & clams, bacon, fregola, dried apricots, pears

SECOND COURSE

Beer: Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Food: Grilled lamb porterhouse, apple raisin chutney, roasted acorn squash

THIRD COURSE

Beer: Brooklyn Blast!

Food: Orange-glazed ribs, grilled cantaloupe & tarragon relish, black-eyed peas

FOURTH COURSE

Beer: Brooklyn Black Ops

Food: Coffee-braised beef cheeks, creamed sweet potatoes, citrus celery salad

Image

FIFTH COURSE

Beer: 2009 Black Chocolate Stout and 2011 Black Chocolate Stout

Food: Salted caramel tart, puff pastry, hazelnuts, Meyer lemon

The entire event was so much fun and incredibly tasty! If you’d like to go to a beer pairing, Chef Drew will actually be having one at 24 Diner on September 24th with Lagunitas. You can find more info (along with a fantastic looking menu) here.
