Have you ever been interested in getting into beer or just really wanted to expand your knowledge of beer in a safe environment with knowledgeable experts around to take you under their wing? Or maybe you just want to drink beer, eat some good food and have a good time. Well, you are in luck because from Sept. 12 to Sept. 25, Central Market will be doing their annual craft beer festival called Expand Your Brewniverse.
“…pore over hundreds of pilsners, ales, bitters and bocks, including some Central Market beer experts’ local, home-grown and international favorites. Discover new brews that pair with tasty foods as you visit brew masters and pairing experts or enjoy a beer dinner hosted by some of the best in the business.”-More, Please!
In Austin, Central Market North Lamar is having the majority of the classes. Such classes include:
- A Real Ale pairing dinner with Real Ale president, Brad Farbstein: Sept. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. where you have some delicious Real Ale beer with a seafood menu.
- Chef Challenge: Peterson vs. Watkins, with Alaskan Beers: Two of Texas’ most popular chefs will duke it out in a Chopped-like challenge and prepare a three course meal (with beer as an ingredient) on Sept. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Beer 101 with Independence Brewery: You’ll learn all about beer from head brewer of Independence Brewing while enjoying some hors d’oeuvres by Scot Loranc and some brews from Independence on Sept. 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
All the classes have a price range from $45 to $70 and come with a commemorative Expand Your Brewniverse pilsner glass.
